Day 70: WE'VE DONE IT!    [6th Aug 08]  See below for comments (56)

It might be rainy, it might be foggy, but right now we don't really care. Nothing really matters at the moment, because we're here, we've done it. We just stood in the waves at the very western-most tip of Vicoria Island, and enjoyed an un-rationed peanut butter on tortilla bread. Details later... Our live expedition updates are written on our tiny ASUS Eee PC 900 laptops, and sent via Iridium 9505A satellite phones from Landwide Satellite Solutions, using email compression software xGate from Global mareine Networks! Thanks guys - it's the perfect set up!

I only came across this site a couple of weeks ago and have been hooked ever since. Congratulations on having reached your objective and overcoming the obstacles presented in your first attempt with ingenuity, teamwork and good old fashioned "guts and determination". Your daily journals seemed to invite me to share your daily hardships and achievements and like other comments throughout, I have been blown away by your stamina and wit to keep us informed despite your efforts in hauling. The adventure has taken you across a barren, featureless (easy to say this from the comfort of the office) island beyond the middle of nowhere and I have enjoyed every minute of reading. Enjoy your rediscovery of the everyday mundane parts of life which I'm sure will be like experiencing the luxurious trappings of modern life to you. I hope you convert your experience into a book as I look forward to hearing more about how you survived confinement in the wilderness.
